Obituary of Shirley Kathleen CROWHURST

CROWHURST, Shirley Kathleen May 18, 1935 – May 26, 2014 It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Shirley Kathleen Crowhurst on Monday, May 26, 2014, at the age of 79. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at Wentworth Manor, Calgary after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Shirley was born May 18, 1935 in Gravesend, Kent England and immigrated to Canada in 1956. Shirley worked at AGT/Telus for 15 years in various departments. She was a child survivor of WWII and a 30 year cancer survivor, and was definitely a fighter. Shirley was an avid reader, loved history and traveling, and will be remembered for her determination, quick wit, and spark for life. Shirley will be deeply missed by her sister Joyce Whitehead of Gravesend, England and her two children, Jeff “Crow” Crowhurst of Calgary, Alberta and Sue Asanto of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was predeceased by her parents; brother Albert; sisters Patricia and May, all of Gravesend, England. Special thanks go to Siobhan Doherty and Donnie Maher for their love and support through Shirley’s illness.
