August 10, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta
Marlene Elizabeth Clayton (nee Harach), long time resident of Calgary, was born December 14, 1947 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Our sister, wife, mother, and, grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2019 in her home. Marlene is now reunited with her dear sweet Ian, who predeceased her, as well as her sweet sister Silva.
Marlene received a Diploma in Piano – Solo Performer at the University of Toronto, Royal Conservatory of Music. Marlene had a love for music and for teaching piano.
Marlene had so much love for her five grandchildren and relished every moment she had with them. Marlene devoted her life to her family, friends and strangers. She always had a listening ear for those that needed it and was always willing to tell a good heartfelt story or have an intellectual conversation. Marlene had a love for reading and sharing poetry with family and friends.
Marlene could light up a room like no other and will be missed by many, but especially by her family, her son Paul and wife Christine, and their children Dallin, Joshua and Sara; her daughter Laurel and husband Jason, and their children, Jaxton and Liam. Marlene will also be missed by her siblings, Marge (Jim) Reidy, Erine (Jean), Harach Micheal (Janet) Harach, Terri Bateman; and the many nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Marlene one last time, we will meet at the Community Hall on August 18, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please come and share your stories and pictures with the family and friends. An interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on August 19, 2019, at 11:30 a.m.
