I recently learned of Pat’s death. I met Pat when he lived at St. Joe’s College at the University of Alberta. I have remembered him over many years despite our paths not having crossed for some time. Pat was a large personality. Pat was very much a part of St. Joe’s community life. A very positive part. Pat was fun, was atheletic, was smart, social and like all of us at the time, the world was his to conquer. He like so many, had an impact on our world that while untold was real, and made it a better place.
Patricia, Mike, Jordan and Miles,
I was Pats’ roommate living with him in Oakridge. I met all of you except Mike in daily activities(Patrick,Boyd & I were close friends) and at TEX’s home in Lakeview. I feel like I know you all well. I am sorry to hear of Patricks’ passing, it seems far too soon. He was a wonderful friend, a incredibly proud Dad & son, and a genuinely “good” person. I have wonderful memories of our storied lives together, he was a “strong but gentle soul” and I learned a great deal about humility from his example. I’ll cherish my memories of his delight in life’s simple pleasures!

We think back decades of our families being good friends, and Pat will always be remembered as having a contagious smile on his face. He was kind, enthusiastic and optimistic, even through his struggles. He will be missed, but he is in peace now.
Our deepest condolence to Mike, Carol , Walsh, Kavanaugh and Neuman on the loss of a brother and uncle. You are in our thoughts and prayers and hope you take comfort in the loving support of family and friends.

Mike & Carol and family –
so sorry to hear about Pat; I’ll say a little prayer for you. I remember him being a most charming, intelligent and kind person and was honored to have been able to share some memorable meals and tall tales with him during his good periods. My sincere sympathy,
Myrna P.
Jordan and Miles: We wanted to pass on our deepest condolences at the loss of your dear father. I remember him well from back in the day when he and I coached the U-11 in-door soccer team which both of you and our son Graham were members of. I especially remember the good times: the success of the team (division champs), the raucous practices and the trips to the Dairy Queen on Bow Trail following practice for a well-earned treat. We lost Graham to his illnesses this past October and we know how hard he, like you father, fought to overcome the diseases which afflected him, but that proved to be an insurmountable task. Know how profound your father’s love for you ran and that that was what sustained him all these years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family. Rick & Carol Myers
Jordon, Miles, Patricia, Michael and Carol – It has been many years since Pat and I graduated from Bishop Carroll and made our way north to the UofA for the first semester of our university careers. I was always grateful to Pat for his stewardship: he always knew how things worked at university and insured I learned it too, despite my anxiety. He thrived living at St. Joe’s those first years. Your Dad and brother was fun, kind and a good friend to me. Our worlds diverged, but I will remember Pat with fondness. It would seem he lived his life with courage. On behalf of myself, my family, and patients with whom it has been my privilege to work, thank you for sharing his life journey, his illness, and challenges in his elegant obituary. Peace.
Please know that we are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
