Obituary of Elsie Rosalie LANDEEN
January 29, 1950 – Grandview, MB
January 9, 2014 – Calgary, AB
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend Elsie Landeen who passed peacefully on January 9, 2014 surrounded by loving friends. A great story teller, Elsie always had a humorous memory to share with whoever dropped by for one of her delicious meals. She was always available to lend a hand, an ear or a shoulder to cry on and her incredible kindness and generosity will always be remembered by so many including the many four legged friends who would get non-stop treats! Elsie had a keen mind for business and spent the majority of her professional years in the moving business. She initiated and developed the International Relocation Services for employees and families in the early 80’s which resulted in winning her many accolades and very positive growth of the business. Elsie was always active with voluntary roles in her community. She took Community support to heart. When a new family moved in Elsie was there with her perogies and an offer to care for the children. She embraced spiritual values and did her best to exemplify them in all aspects. Elsie will forever be in the hearts of a multitude of close friends and neighbours who shared so many precious times with her. She is survived by her brother Mike (Barb) Stech and sister Mary (Barry) Johnston, her nieces and nephews and her honorary grandchildren Jackson and Karmen Shaw. A Celebration of Elsie’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through . Special thanks goes out to everyone at Agape Hospice where she spent her last days receiving loving care and the gift of spending time with her beloved pup Georgie Boy. Also to the caring doctors and nurses at the Foothills Hospital Units 61 and 42.In lieu of flowers a donation to Agape Hospice would be appreciated.
