Eddie and June were great friends and we enjoyed many barbeques and lobster suppers together over the years.
Eddie was a true individualist with unique and unconventional interests -bagpipes included. He will be missed.
Hi Ian.
I was sad to hear of the passing of your father. But good things come out of sad things sometimes. His passing brought us together again, after 25 years. My thoughts are with you.
Richard
Dorothy, Andrew & Ian,
our most harty condolences goes out to you. Eddie was a true brother-in-law and husband to my sister.
Best Regards,
Gary & Robin
Sincere condolences for Andrew, Ian and family. I was a good friend of Eddie for about 30 years. I visited him and June in The garden of Eden in Nova Scotia and he showed me local sights and outdid me 5 to 1 in picking blueberries on his land. A fine man with a great sense of humour. His stock market prowness was well known to all. A great story teller who entertained us all.
We were very sorry to learn of Eddie’s death. We extend our condolences to all Eddie’s family. He certainly will be missed.
Sincerely,
Claire and Ralph Foote
Dear Ian, Andrew and family,
I was so saddened to learn of Eddie’s sudden death.Your parents were so kind to me when I was in calgary briefly in 1979. We have a trailer in Dunvegan and this weekend is the Broad Cove concert which your father enjoyed so many times. He would often quiz me about Cape Breton fiddlers. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Catherine
Condolences from England-
Edward Athol James was my 1st cousin twice removed.
We are both descended from Thomas James born 1842 in England, died 1914 in Goldenville, Nova Scotia.
Eddie was a wonderful neighbor. When we moved into the neighborhood we loved hearing him play the bagpipes, always at a respectful afternoon time. During his walks he would chat to us on various interesting topics.
I am sorry to hear of Eddie’s death. He and I were best friends at Acadia where we graduated together. We have been in touch by phone the past several years.
Eddie’s sister’s father-in-law and my father were best friends during World War I.
My condolences to the James Family.
I am a geologist who worked with Eddie in the Sydney office in the late 1960’s.
Eddie was an excellent geologist and a great mentor who imparted his knowledge and experience to an office of “green” newly employed geologists. My sincere condolences to his family.
Dear Dolly
We were very sorry to read about your brother in today’s paper. We are thinking of you & send our deepest sympathy to you & your family.

“Uncle Eddie” was a master of story telling. His worldwide experiences and various associations provided many enlightening tales of his life adventures. He was one of a kind.
Our sincere condolences to the James family.
Andrew,Ian, Dorothy & Family:
Will greatly miss Eddie’s conversations about his family he loved, the oil industry, and a dozen other things in which he had great interest. He had a wealth of information about the old days in the lumber woods and about growing up in the Garden of Eden and Nova Scotia.
His enthusiasm about everything was contagious.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincere sympathy to all the family. We will miss both Eddie and June as we always looked forward each summer to their visits and the card games.
Love, John and Barbara

It is with shock and sadness that today we learned of Eddie’s death. Eddie and June were dearly loved and cherished friends. We always looked forward to their visits to the “East Coast”. Only a couple of weeks ago I drove down from Fraser’s Mountain and passed through “The Garden of Eden” on my way back to Pictou. We have lost a legend who, along with June, will be dearly missed.
Extend our deepest condolences to all the family.
Stan and Barb MacEachern
