Condolences
I was so sorry to learn of Edna’s passing. It is a great loss to our family, especially my grandmother, as well. Edna took my grandmother, Annie, under her wing when my grandmother was first admitted to the nursing home. Edna and my grandmother became roommates and friends. Edna refused a private room and moved to the new wing with my grandmother so she could continue to watch over her. Edna was loving and compassionate and brought much joy to my grandmother’s life.
Edna was also practical and strong and very protective. She ensured my grandmother was well cared for. She was also very curious. She wrote a book about my grandmother’s history, weaving together my grandmother’s memories with my mother’s historical knowledge. When Edna leaned that my grandmother had worked for the McMillian family in England and met Elizabeth and Margaret (before Elizabeth was Queen), she went to the trouble of writing a letter to the Queen and received a reply from Queen Elizabeth’s Lady in Waiting. We were all thrilled, especially my grandmother. When I reconnected with my grandmother, I took Annie and Edna for high tea at the Palliser.
Edna’s kindness will not be forgotten.

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” Psalm 46:1 (NLT) I am certain those of us who have been touched by our dear Edna will surely have been blessed by our dear sister in the Lord.Blessed be her memory! Edna would want you to “keep on trusting, and waiting on the Lord as she did. May God give you peace, comfort and strength in this time.
