Condolences
So sorry and surprised to hear of Doug’s passing. I saw him recently and he looked great. Always a pleasure to see him. I think he knew what really was important in life and has passed that on to his children. I feel fortunate to have known him.
Sincere condolence

So sorry to hear of your loss, Bev and kids. Visits at the Rollans were some of the favourite times for us great-nephews and nieces. Doug will always have a special place in my memories. I’m sending my love all the way from the East Cost along with Dee Dee, and our brand new 2 week old twin girls.
Who’s going run the shop? Maybe I have 5 more to go as I’ll be seventy five in March. Give my regards to the Family.

Bev, Tim and all of the family. We are very saddened to learn of Doug’s passing last week. We both fondly remember many hours spent at Teletape over the decades. Doug, no matter how busy he was, would always take off time to share a couple of cups of coffee.
I shall remember him always and pray that he is happy as always.
Our condolences to the whole family.

To Bev and Family – Living across the way from Doug meant that we could count on hearing him, at least a few days a week, whistling either upon departure or arrival back home. His kindly demeanor and hearty laughter were appreciated by so many neighbours. Stories of the farm, grandchildren, and daily events were amongst the things we enjoyed chatting about. He was proud of his family – his marriage to Bev, each of his children, and his beloved grandchildren – all spoken of with a twinkle in his eye. Its been our honour to be able to call Doug both neighbour and friend. Please know that we regard Bev with equal fondness, and whatever is needed, just let us know. Our condolences to the whole family – Rick and Gail

To family and friends of Doug, I am truly sorry for your loss of such a wonderful person. Doug was my mentor at Teledyne. I got injured working on the oil rigs and was a little more than rough around the edges when I got so lucky and started working with Doug. Doug taught me all he could about the computer, how to operate it, with accuracy being most important. I use one of his sayings to this day, “less hurry, more speed”, my boys know it well. After Teledyne I worked at a couple other computer rooms at a time there were massive layoffs but I went though those times unscathed because I had Doug teach me what was expected of a good computer operator. Doug also gave me advise before I got married, with sayings like “it takes two to make it and one to break it”, (I’m still married). He could have easily given up on me but he didn’t, which made a huge positive impact in my life.
