Obituary of Christopher (Chris) David FLECKNOR
January 8, 1969 – Calgary, Alberta
August 3, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta
Christopher Flecknor of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the young age of 51 years.
Chris graduated from SAIT as a Journeyman Electrician and enjoyed several years in that field as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 424. He enjoyed his electrical career for years, before expanding into different career adventures.
A large part of Chris’ heart was his huge love of animals. Whether they were his fur babies or someone else’s, he would go out of his way to befriend an animal. Chris once searched for hours to find a lost dog in the neighbourhood, and sure enough, it was Chris who found him.
Chris was always willing to lend a hand, he rarely said no, only “How can I help?”. Whether that be watering the garden for his sister, teaching his older brother the finer points in life, giving weather warnings to everyone, eating the leftovers, helping to move furniture, dog sitting Freckles, electrical work for his in-laws while on vacation, phone calls to his nephew and niece pretending to be Santa, or just giving that big teddy bear hug, to let you know that it will be ok.
Chris is survived by his brother, Doug Flecknor, sister Jodi (Rod) Kruetzfeld, nephew and niece, Erik and Abbey Kruetzfeld; friend Heather-Marie Flecknor, and father David Bodington.
Chris was predeceased by his mother Margaret Flecknor, dad Jim Flecknor, and fur babies, Sweetpea and Peanut.
Many of you who had known Chris, knew how much of a social butterfly he was. At any get together, family function, or party, Chris would find a way to visit with you.
