Nancy and Raymond Postma
Dear Ida,
We always will remember you as a long time family friend of the Postma and Hastrich family.
You was business partner of Burt Postma for many years already before we met you for the first time in 1992 on our first trip to Canada.
We visit you everytime we came to Canada for vacation and you surprised us through the years everytime again with your homemade meals, puffs and chocolate mousse at your place or on our day trips. And we won’t forget the good memories of our conversations at your kitchentable.
The last two times we met in 2015 and 2016 we had our little daughter Anna with us and she also liked your chocolate mousse.
This year we intented to visit you again and show you our son Casper. But Covid19 messed up everything and we were not able to come and see you for a last time.
This fills our hearts with pain and tears.
Dear Ida we will miss you.
Love Arthur, Christina, Anna and Casper Hastrich

A message of love to our Zia (our Auntie Ida),
Dear Zia, we want to thank you for all you did for our family over the distance and through the years. You never forgot us be it through a phone call, letters, and gifts. But most of all words. Words of love, compassion, care, and empathy as they were a constant in our lives. You supported us throughout our lives giving us strength and courage to explore life as you did. Our mama, Norma…your younger sister…always spoke of you with pride, joy and love. Even though you and she grew up in different countries, separated by distance there was never distance in your hearts. Now, you, your sister Norma, brother Giuseppe and all of the family can be reunited eternally.
There will be an empty space in our hearts forever Zia. We will miss you more than words can express.
We love you so much,
Federica and Donatella
My deepest condolences to the De Lazzari and Facchin family. I was a pen pal with Ms.Ida for several years. She would share her rich history and we would talk about travel and languages. She was a beautiful, brilliant, and strong woman...ahead of her time. I will miss my correspondence with her. May she soar on strong wings to her next adventure.
with sympathy and light,
Elizabeth Wurzlow
