Condolences

I was saddened to hear of Paul's passing, but after reflecting on it for a bit I couldn't help but be happy for Paul as he would be very excited to be reunited with Muriel.
All those positive comments about Paul are nothing short of the truth. I met Paul while he was in the process of setting up his first restaurant in Airdrie, but certainly not his first restaurant. Paul knew his way in the restaurant business, but even more so he knew his way in the People business. Matter of fact, working or being around Paul was not like business at all. It was like working alongside a friend. Paul was always friendly, respectful, and courteous. It has been a privilege to know Paul.
To Paul's Family, I wish you All the Best! You share many of the same qualities.
Blessings on You,
Lorne Vellacott
We’ve known Paul and his wife, Muriel, for over 30 years as neighbours. He would stop for a “back alley” chat or wave hello in passing. Paul’s smile, kindness, and humbleness will be dearly missed. Our deepest condolences to Paul’s family and friends.

Paul and I had butted heads occasionally over the six years that I rented from him, we didn’t always see eye to eye but I have always had the greatest respect for him. There are not too many people in their 70’s that will still climb a ladder onto a roof or to change lights bulbs ( I had to tell him many times to get down off that ladder before you hurt yourself ). I will miss my visits with Paul and his chauffeur ( brother) Jim and Oreo.
Our condolences to the whole family.
Paul will be deeply missed.
The tomatoes are great this year ;)
RIP my friend.

We met Paul just a short while ago, he was a wonderful man! We met him at the restaurant in Airdrie and anytime we stopped by to share a meal he would appear to ask how our service was and most importantly, how our meal was! He was very sure to tell us that his family was working with him and all he expected was for his customers to be happy! Such a kind heart and caring man for all that knew him!
Paul and Muriel were my neighbours directly across the street for over 30 years. They were the best. Every morning Paul brought me the newspaper. For a while I went to their house and stayed with GRandma so Paul and Muriel could go to the hockey games. One very special time was when my Christopher asked her to be his Grandma. That bond was even stronger. Muriel thought it gave her new life. Paul would often call and say that he was bringing one of his famous pizzas. No husband was more faithful than Paul everyday when Muriel was in Rockyview he andJim would go to visit for many months. He so missed her and now they are together again. Thanks for the memories. Till we meet again.
John McKishnie— I worked in the financial services industry and met Paul 36 years ago where he was a client. Off and on our paths crossed as I moved offices but one thing always remained the same -Paul was always classy and successful because he cared about his clients and staff. When we moved to Airdrie 27 years ago Paul soon opened his restaurant out here and from the very outset he made friends and was successful as always. I still remember Paul and Muriel at Airdrie Thunder Friday night hockey games with their blanket keeping them warm at rinkside. Rest easy old friend as you are now re-united with your soulmate

My family and I extend our sincere condolences. Paul was not a large man in stature but his heart, his generosity and his effect on all who met him were definitely 'oversized'. We are especially grateful for his love of our late cousin Muriel, for his care and compassion during her lengthy illness, and for his kindness and caring of all in her extended family. We will miss Paul but not forget him. And we will cherish our memories. Gloria Rowe
