Condolences
Harold was a classmate in grades seven through nine in the old "Main School". We met many times over the years up to 2005.
He was always a nice person to chat with and will be missed by all those he associated with over the decades.

Harold and my mom were cousins . He was also a groomsman at my moms wedding back in 1952. Throughout the years they kept in touch and during my mom's final last days he was one of the few people who visited her in the nursing home and at the hospital. Visiting Harolds dad Walter and his mom Elsie was a highlight of my youth. They were so funny and welcoming and always had treats for the kids. When we were younger our family and Harold's family did get together a few times and Harold and Mylene certainly carried on the tradition of being fun and welcoming. After many years my husband and I connected with Harold and Mylene on a fated casino trip to Regina. The bus company took us there, put us up in a rather sad motel and then proceeded to go out of business while we were there. Harold took it with his usual good humour. Luckily the company found us a way back. After that trip we got in touch more often. Harold was truly a fun, gentle and kind man. I know that he missed his wife very much and will be happy to be with her again. Lydia and Bruce
Harold and Mylene were wonderful neighbors across the back alley. Always helpful and friendly to us, who were new in this country.
They will be in our hearts forever.

I worked with Harold at Western Union/ING Insurance for many years. Have many great memories of those times.
My deepest condolences to the family
Our condolences to Judy and Lori.
Mr. Smith was always kind to our family while growing up in Bowness. Living only a couple doors away made it convenient for us to hang around the Smith family which was great for me!
Dave and I would set up Hot Wheels tracks and we would play for hours.
Lori and I were in the same grade and went to Assumption School together.
Judy babysat me and I watched her play the piano.
Mylene was like a second Mom and spoiled me when I visited.
Harold would wack golf balls across 73rd street into Bow Croft school ground, and Dave and I would pedal around retrieving them.
Lots of other memories as well.
I did have the pleasure to visit him in Scenic Acres home for coffee a few times, and talked to him on the telephone as well.
We will definitely miss him. Godspeed Mr. Smith.
From Harold, and the entire Then family.
I met your Dad in March of this year at the Foothills Hospital. He was wonderful company and a great source of comfort to me. I was saddened to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family,

Harold is one of the most important persons in my life. I first met him in 1978 when I was a young teenager, which is when his daughter Lori first introduced her family to me. From the very start Harold would kid with me, like he sometimes did with others. He liked to kid and laugh but he could also be very serious. He was serious about his work and a very dedicated person. Harold was also an excellent teacher. As a young teenager I learned so much from Harold, and from his son David. From them I learned a great deal about auto body work while spending hours upon hours in his garage. And I learned a lot about getting perfect lines on the lawn, too. I must’ve done alright because eventually Harold entrusted me with both the back and front lawns, which was a big responsibility! Now decades later, I value and use all that Harold (and David) taught me, from cars, lawns, building things, and more. I am sure Harold is now back to cutting his lawn, under the watchful eye of his beloved wife Mylene and beloved son David. For all of the kindness they showed me, thank you so very much. And to Judy and Lori and family, I offer you all my deepest, heartfelt condolences and thank you too for sharing dad with me.
