Obituary of Fraser John Smith
December 9, 1960 – Toronto, Ontario
April 28, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
With heavy hearts, we share the news of the sudden passing of Fraser John Smith, our beloved son and brother. Fraser, aged 63 years, departed from this world in the early hours of Sunday, April 28, 2024, in Calgary, AB. Born to Jack and Margaret in Toronto, ON, he spent over five decades calling Calgary his home.
Fraser's profound passion for music was evident from a tender age. He could often be found immersed in the rhythm of his drums, much to the amusement, or perhaps occasional dismay, of his neighbours. His frequent heartfelt exchanges with family, including almost daily calls to his father, showcased his deep connection with loved ones. Fraser also had a genuine affection for animals and a discerning palate for good food. He had a particular fondness for macaroni and cheese and late-night culinary adventures with spaghetti and tacos, adding a touch of whimsy to his character.
Fraser is preceded in death by his beloved mother Margaret and his stepbrother Michael. His gentle and caring spirit, marked by his infectious smile, will forever linger in the hearts of his family and friends. Among those who cherished his presence were Dean and Sharron, whose unwavering love and companionship provided solace to Fraser until his final moments. Fraser's absence will be keenly felt by all whose lives he touched.
A private family Celebration of Fraser's Life will be held at a later date, allowing his loved ones to come together and honour his memory.
