Obituary of Jill Coggins

December 14, 1950 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

May 11, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Jill Coggins, much-loved wife of Bill Tymchyshyn, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, peacefully at home at the age of 73 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Kay and Pat Coggins; and brother Jack (Shelley). Jill is survived by her brother Dan (Carol), sister Deborah and Deborah’s children, Kate (Dan) and Alex; Kate’s children, Gwen and Oscar; Jill’s husband Bill and children, Rob (Nancy), Jamie, and Tannis (Mario); and grandchildren, Taylor, Ryder, Sarah, and Rachael.

Jill was a highly regarded legal assistant, employed by several law firms in Calgary. She retired early to join Bill in wintering in Yuma, AZ, summering in the Coggins family cabin in Cochin Lake, SK, but always returning to their home in Calgary. Jill and Bill were both active members of the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, where they were married on December 4, 1982. Jill was very involved with volunteer duties at St Stephen’s. As the Rector’s Warden, she was proud to participate in the introduction of the “Inn from the Cold” outreach program to Calgary. Jill was also actively involved in gym programs at both North Hill and Westbrook with her “Gym Girls”.  Jill touched many lives with her kindness, wisdom, and generosity of spirit, and was deeply loved by all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (1121 – 14 Ave SW, Calgary, T2R 0P3) on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
