Condolences
I have had the pleasure of knowing Bryan for my entire life. Ever since I was a little tiny baby!
My dad and Bryan were best friend for the last 50 years.
Bryan was nothing but kind and generous and thoughtful towards me, my family, and anybody’s life he entered.
In 2001 Bryan took my family, and his two boys, to the Molson Indy in Vancouver. He got us the penthouse suite in the coast plaza hotel. He spared no expense on showing us a good time. (And I will never ever forget being such a brat and throwing ice cubes off of our balcony. Bryan and my dad were so mad)
That is just how Bryan rolled. He loved hard. He did things big. And he spared no expense making you feel special.
I will hold a special place in my heart forever for Bryan. Just knowing that he was so special and important to my parents is a testament to the amazing man he was.
You will be forever missed by myself and my family.

Bryan Singleton was a Brother, Husband, Father, Warrior, Real Estate Developer and an incredibly talented Mechanical Engineer. I first met Bryan in 1994 on the Tuscarora Natural Gas Pipeline Project. This project ran through portions of Oregon, California and ended in central Nevada. The project was successfully commissioned in 1995. So I first met members of the project team, Bryan, Barry, Lyal and Wayne Singleton of Singleton Engineering (SAEL) . The project ownership was TransCanada, out of Calgary and Sierra Pacific Resources out of Reno Nevada. The project benefited greatly by supporting companies from Canada.
I clearly remember the first time meeting Bryan face to face . My wife Becky and I were at Barry and Reggie’s home in Calgary, Bryan quietly approached me from the side, tapped my shoulder and said , “Hello , I wanted to introduce myself, I am Bryan Singleton .” I was momentarily shocked and thought ‘oh my, another one , e except this one was with a mustache.
Of all the good things we can say about Bryan, something that Bryan was not, is selfish. Bryan generously shared his love, wit, intelligence, kindness and brilliance. Bryan will be missed but all of us that had the privilege of being associated with him.
I recently read a card that said;
WHEN SOMEONE YOU LOVE BECOMES A MEMORY ……THE MEMORY BECOMES A TREASURE.
Bryan is not a memory yet he still blazes brightly in our minds but someday he will be a treasure in our hearts forever.
Heike and I are deeply saddened at the news of Bryan's passing. We send our heartfelt condolences to Barry, Carolyn and the entire family.
Bryan was an amazing person with a remarkable life, always friendly with a big smile on his face! We were very fortunate to have known him!
We first met Bryan at ICG Engineering in 1980 when he came in as a consultant to help with the construction of an 8" line in Barrhead. Then we worked with Bryan and Barry in 1980s and 90s to provide inspection staff for ICG rural gas construction, and finally I was brought in to join Singleton Engineering for the incredible Alliance Pipeline project!
Bryan was hard worker, always busy, so it must have been very difficult for him during the last few months! Take courage and comfort in knowing he is now at peace, perhaps building chalet villages or pipelines in heaven!
Thinking of you and hoping the good memories will help you through this difficult time. Martin and Heike Stribrny
Dawn and I are deeply saddened to hear of Bryan's passing. I had the opportunity to work with Bryan and Barry on various pipeline projects including Alliance and Palliser. I am truly appreciative of their time, effort and professional skill brought to these projects. Bryan brought a special skill set to each endeavor along with a sharp wit and humor that made these projects very enjoyable. Bryan was a great friend and will truly be missed by all who had the opportunity to spend time with him. Our deepest condolences go out to Carolyn, Barry and Reggie, Wayne and Maureen, Derek and Kevin and all of Bryan's family and friends.

I had the honor of meeting Bryan and Carolyn when they had Derek and Kevin. I used to look after the boys and they lived across the street from my parents.
I send my condolences to you and your family.

Very sad news about Bryan. We worked together for more than 40 years and I proudly counted myself as a friend, an honour I knew I had attained once the sarcastic comments started flowing. He called me "Mr. Big" (I'm 5'2") and never missed an opportunity to skewer me with short jokes. I was always impressed by Bryan's work ethic, technical skill and amazing memory for details (and jokes). He did not suffer fools easily and was quick to express his displeasure, as a rookie California helicopter pilot found out years ago in a snowstorm over northern Nevada. But Bryan was a great friend, fiercely loyal and very generous. My son will never forget his Viper ride and Bryan's patient explanations of the intricacies of car racing at the Vancouver Indy. On behalf of Rose Ann and myself, our deepest condolences go out to Carolyn, Barry and Reggie, Wayne and Maureen, Derek and Kevin and all of Bryan's family and friends.
I am fortunate for the time spent with Bryan. Bryan valued family and was dedicated to his family and friends. I recall he called me every Sunday without fail when I was a child and we were apart. My family and I will miss Bryan's jokes and his smile. Bryan would laugh every time he told a joke even if had told the same joke more than once. I'll have the turtle soup and make it snappy! At my wedding Bryan was asked if he had any words of wisdom for Richard and I. Bryan responded that we should "look forward to a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness...heavy on the laughter." We feel Bryan lived his life along these terms as well. We are thankful for all the great memories and our thoughts and love are with the Singleton family always. Rest peacefully Bryan
Dave and I send our condolences to Bryan’s family. We met Bryan through our best friends, Maureen & Wayne Singleton. We recall Bryan at Greg and Jana’s Wedding with his unconditional love for his two sons who were just little guys. More recently, Bryan and Carolyn welcomed us to their cottage at the Landscapes so we could spend time with Maureen & Wayne. It was obvious that Bryan loved the Landscapes and although he was supposed to be on holidays, he went from one project to another and enjoyed being busy. He also enjoyed Dave and Wayne playing guitars and his brother singing. We are aware of Bryan’s accomplishments in his career but he remained a very humble man. May Bryan’s precious memories keep him forever near you and may his spirit live on.

Sincere condolences to Carolyn, Barry & Reggie and Wayne & Maureen on the passing of Bryan. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to cross paths with him. We always appreciated his hard work and dedication, his sense of humour and love of music and family that he would share with us during his visits to Muskoka.
For more than 50 years I've watched Bryan approach life with great exuberance. He displayed tremendous excitement when he bought his 1972 Corvette and nothing but passion when it came to building the pipeline and looking after his friends and family. His wittiness, playfulness and great jokes were enjoyed by many. I sincerely hope that all of these happy memories will give Bryan's family a sense of comfort during this challenging time.
Aggie and I are saddened on Bryan's passing. We send our condolences to the family. Since the seventies we have spent time working together and enjoying each others company as friends. We shall cherish those memories.

Sad to read of Bryan's passing. Sympathies to his family and Barry and Wayne. This is from an old ACS classmate from North Bay who now also resides in Calgary. I hope he is playing the drums in a bugle band up there!!
It was with great sadness we learned of Bryan’s passing. I was fortunate to have worked with Bryan and his brothers, Barry and Lyall on a number of pipeline projects. I had the greatest respect for Bryan as a pipeliner and was Foy to also know him as a friend. I enjoyed Bryan’s intelligence, quick wit and humour. My utmost condolences to Bryan’s family. Rest in peace my friend
Bryan was a very dear friend and we are fortunate to have him in our life! We will cherish many memories together, and his generosity and quick wit to make us laugh! Our condolences to Carolyn, Derek, Kevin and to Barry and Reg.
Barry and family;
Loosing a brother is hard. Loosing your twin must be even harder. I am so sorry to hear about this. My best wishes and deepest condolences. Howard
I worked with Bryan and is brother Barry on the Alliance pipeline and their Singleton companies were instrumental in getting it completed on time and on budget. They led small but talented teams that accomplished near miracles. The industry recognized that at the time but their achievements look even more remarkable in light of recent pipeline projects both overspending and running late. Bryan had a sharp sense of humor and a fast wit that kept you on your toes. He was an excellent photographer and had a talent for graphics and CAD. Bryan will be missed both personally and professionally Our condolences to Carolyn, Barry, Reggie and all the family
Our sincerest condolences to Bryan’s family. Working with Bryan and Barry (and all the Singleton folks) was a great pleasure. While working with Bryan on the Palliser pipeline, I’m not sure if there was any small town eatery in southern Alberta that didn’t receive the order “turtle soup, make it snappy”. There was never a bad field day if Bryan was there.
