Margaret Roberta, but everyone knew her as Bobbi. I first met Bobbi when my brother David introduced us with “This is Bobbi, the girl I am going to marry”, and marry her he did, bringing this wonderful person into the James family.
Over the years we shared many happy times at gathering for every occasion. Bobbi was always laughing and smiling and always a joy to be with. I also remember that she also had a strict side that would come out whenever she felt it necessary, and when it did. you knew not to mess with this lady.
She was a mother who treasured her children, a wife who loved her husband, and a friend to many. She was always as solid as a rock when faced with adversity. She was the genuine article.
The parties at her house were many and lots of fun. We all have fond memories of playing horseshoes in her side yard with Bobbi at the Bar-B-Q. There were many dinner parties with Bobbi and David hosting the huge James family. One of the things Bobbi loved to do, and was so good at, was the laborious task of making pickled beets. All the James families looked forward to receiving a gift of Bobbi’s beets at Christmas and her wonderful smile as she gave them to you.
As she got older life became a little more difficult and this wonderful lady who had taken care of so many realized that she would need some help. Her dream was to be able to move to Calgary to live with her daughter and her family, who had invited her to come and live with them. As soon as their Montreal house issue was resolved Bobbi & David packed up and moved to Calgary. The move to Calgary was a blessing for her. She lived many happy years there, she buried her husband David there, and sadly she recently died there.
My wife Andrée and I send our sincerest condolences to her family. She will be remembered as a wonderful person that we had the good fortune to share a part of her life for all too brief a period of time.
