Condolences
Such a sad time in hearing off Stoney's passing. Served with him in Zweibrucken and Calgary. Always knew him to be one of the true Gentlemen of our time and he always left you with a great feeling of pleasure just knowing him. Will be sorely missed and RIP my friend.
My condolences to Sharon and all of Barry’s family. He was such a terrific friend. Thanks for that friendship Barr and now please rest in much deserved peace. Your friend Betty Rowan
I remember Barry from 3Wing as we were on the same shift. When he arrived, he was shorter than me and when I left, he was much taller. I told him that his family would not recognize him when he got home, as he had grown so tall.
RIP Stoney. We served together in Val D'Or and Zweibrucken. A fine AFP and great all around person.
Uncle Barry, we shared a love for cats and I was so excited to have your sweet boy Devil come stay with us while you were living the Caribbean lifestyle. It gave us the opportunity to visit you and this is where I was first introduced to the ocean and beautiful beaches. Still my favourite place to be.
When I lived in Calgary you were very supportive, letting me stay with you and helping me move (more than once or twice). Any time I make a pot roast I think of you and the ones you cooked which fed us for days.
I’m grateful for your advice and encouragement when I followed you into corrections and learned by your example as you treated everyone with kindness. It was only a couple of years but I’m glad for the experience.
Uncle Barry, I will always remember you as fun, loving and supportive with a smile that lit up your whole face. You had such a love for books, games and animals and I appreciated all the advice you shared.
Thank you for this and so much more.
Always in my heart.
Kristin
Our Sincere Condolences Sharon and family I always looked up to Barry he was always so kind to me when I was a youngster. Bubba has lots of good memories of Barry when they were young boys playing their games of road hockey in little old Elkhorn!! Thinking of you all as you cherish wonderful memories of Barry. Sincerely Bubba and Glynis ❤️❤️
I think of Uncle Barry as having a generous and easily given smile. He taught me how to shuffle cards the fancy way! I think of him every time I have cards in my hand.
Love Kerry, Trevor, Rachel, Cam and Zach
So sorry to hear of Stoney’s passing. Sincere condolences to Sharon, family and friends. I served with Stoney many years ago in Calgary with the Military Police and he was one of the best persons I ever served with, a very good man!
Cold Lake seems so far away but find memories. Football on your lawn in bathing suits about-15. Grey cup always special. We haven't connected for years but the times we had will never be forgotten. RIP stoney condolences to the family.
Uncle Barry,
I cherish the time we shared: you had great influence on my life; from choosing to travel, living in the Caribbean, to my career in policing... You taught me the importance of treating people fairly and with respect, no matter what their situation was. Stubbornly calling you uncle, was my greatest compliment to you, even though you would say, "just Barry".... You'll always live on in my heart.
"Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never
be more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory,
they'll live on in the heart."
