Obituary of Richard Ernest DORSAY

June 28, 1929 – Hamilton, ON June 10, 2013 – Calgary, AB Richard beloved husband of Hilda of Calgary, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on June 10, 2013 in his 84th year. After graduating from the University of Toronto in Mechanical Engineering in 1953, Richard (Dick) had a long and respected career as a Professional Engineer with Imperial Oil; first in Sarnia (1953-1977) and then in Calgary (1977-retirement). He married Hilda (nee Brown) in 1954 in London, ON. He was an active church member for many years, serving as a Warden and Board member at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church in Sarnia, ON and at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Calgary. Richard was a wonderful husband, father and a true gentleman with a quick wit and a great sense of humour. He loved spending time with the family’s English Springer Spaniels, watching hockey and tending to his roses. He will be greatly missed. Richard is survived by his wife Hilda; son Stephen (Lynn Zeidler); daughters Barbara, Anne and Lynn (Stuart Gilmour); sisters-in-law Mildred Dorsay and Dorothy Brown; nephews John (Jan Park Dorsay), Andrew Dorsay, Christopher Dorsay; niece Sandra Dorsay and long-time friend Robina Cuthbert. Richard was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Rhea Dorsay (1962 & 1971), son Brian Richard Dorsay (1981), brother John Conrad Dorsay (2005) and nephew Mark Dorsay (2009).
